Short Hair Policy in Chinese School

Finally we received confirmation from Princess school on the enrollment to Standard One next year. Among all the forms that hubby bring home, this one makes me wanna cry like a baby.

It says, the boys must have a crew-cut (which is fine with me) and for the girls, the length mustn’t touch the collar. By looking at the form, it is awfully shorttttttt don’t ya think?

You see, Princess has got beautiful healthy dark, long and wavy hair. She even inheritage hubby’s natural curl. Nothing too curly. Just a little at the end. Let me show you.

Isn’t that beautiful? At other times, it will look straight. Don’t ask me why.

Not only she had beautiful healthy hair, aitelyou her mama has got all the good genes in producing beautiful babies too *duck from rotten eggs*

Half of the time, she don’t look like a chinese.

People used to mistaken her as a Korean that is including her Kindie teachers.

Enough cheap advertising cum camwhoring here. Bet you guys are bored with multiple images of Princess. lol.

Back to her hair, rules are rules. We have to adhere to it. Infact, most chinese schools are practising this policy for ages. The reason? It says here, “… so that children will be more DISCIPLINE and neat”. What does short hair gotta do with being discipline? Hair is just a form of beauty. I do agree one will look neat in short hair but if nicely bunned, it will looks neater. At least hairs that was bunned doesn’t drop in your food!!!

I’m going to missed those morning we spent together in front of the full length mirror pleating, buning, combing and smelling her hair. At times I used to yell at her, “When is the last you shampoo your hair? Dem smelly!” hehe…. and since she love to play princessy, she used take me as comparison as who’s hair is the longest. I always have to let her win. I can’t bear to see that pitiful look she gave me. Guess this coming December, she won’t be asking or even make the comparison anymore. 😥 🙁

Short Talk – People who frequently undertake travel usually know all about cheap airline tickets and other ways of conducting successfully a cheap travel. The packages stating all inclusive resorts are meant to lure this genre.

aiyo..pictures on the form looks like the communist era. I like girls with long hair, so does my girl….cham lah… I hope next time my girl’s school is not so strict la. Really no negotiation can be made ah? what about girls who attend that school and doing ballet? Doesn’t match leh, wearing the ballet dress and with short hair???

The Queen says:  Ballerina will need to produce a letter from the ballet teacher.  This type of thing how can negotiate but I won’t cut Princess hair so short la.  Siao meh.  *waiting for warning letter*.

What kind of stupid and dumb rule is that? Blardy ketinggalan zaman already-lah those chinese schools should update themselfs-lah after so many years.
Me piss off coz I’ve not trimmed my daughter’s hair since she was born. Just trim the front only.

The Queen says: Wah, so blardy angry. Then you sent your daughter to Malay school or choose those Chinese school which allow her to keep long hair. I have to settle with this school cos it’s the best in town and most famous in Klang.

Some chinese schools have now let up after moving to the city filled with “banana” parents. My son in Chee Wen for example are not too strict…no chinese school crew cuts (thankfully) Girls must keep hair tied up. In fact even earrings are allowed!!! They didn’t even allow this in the mission schools I grew up in. (Oh yes, we were all boys…)
Enroll princess in ballet classes and get an exemption letter :>

The Queen says:  Spent RM80 a month for the sake of her hair?  hehe… I’m not that vain yet.

Her cheek bones could be mistaken for Korean.

She has beautiful hair. It is a shame they make her cut it. Don’t see why. Girls supposed to have long hair? Scratching my head.

this is indeed the most ridiculous rule ever! tying up neatly works so much better than having short hair that’s cumbersome to remain sleek all the time… can’t parents not protest about this???!!!

[…] How very surprised I am after I posted “Short Hair Policy in Chinese School” many voices out their frustrations and disagreements on that issue. Let me tell you why I’ve decided to send Princess to a Chinese school whereby I am a total “banana” (chinese but doesn’t read chinese) myself. Beware that this is kinda long winded post where I will dig the grave and tell you some history even. […]

As a Chinese secondary school student, I’ve had to keep my hair short since 2-3 years back. Yes, it’s wasting about RM12 each month for haircuts, but it’s not such a big deal. I do not see the point of banning long hair, the whole ‘discipline’ thing is absolutely pointless, but I don’t think they’re gonna change it so there’s no use making such a big fuss. Instead, why don’t we focus all our energy on SAVING THE PLANET??? Peace!

It makes me sad if young people who like their long hair are forced to cut it off, especially if long haired girls are made to go through it. I know about the intensive feelings that long hair can give. Who cares about the feelings of young people with long hair? Long hair is a part of the beauty that nature gives to us, I enjoy it. In younger years I was not allowed to have long hair, later I let it grow, now I have waiste length hair. I like it very much. For me its a part of my identity.
