Bento Mania #78 – Nissin Noodle
Left:Â Checkered apple (I used Fuji apple as Rose apple is out of season)
Right:Â (what you see) Grilled sausages, edamane & narutomaki (kamaboko) aka fishcake
(what you can’t see)Â Nissin noddle at the bottom.
I love my Lock & Lock container. When I am in the mood for neat arrangement and dislike cutting food into odd shape for decoration purposes, this is when I turned to my faithful Lock & Lock.

although there’s no particular or detail decoration, but i just adore how you tend to make bentos colourful. this really do attract attention and hunger.

how do you peel the apple to look like that, any tool for that?
just wonder r they the same as our local fishcake from the market. where to buy the jap fishcake?
The Queen says: Hi KK, the special tool is a sharp carving knife. You can check out on the tutorial here http://www.jessieling.com/2008/07/29/checkered-apple/ . The fish cake taste the same as local. I bought them from Takashimaya Singapore. Not sure if the local supermarket sell them.
